I'm partial to warm light and wispy fog over water, much less waterfowl ... this is a beautiful rendition, nicely done!

Thanks for the recent comments everyone. To Daniel Taylor: this was a fairly extreme crop which I believe is related to the heavy grain. I have also found that many of my images that contain fog seem rather soft.

Amazing work, great color. Very evocative. I love the textures: the ripples in the front, the mist in the back, the steely calm in the center. Futuristic almost, but with a great warmth. Congratulations. NOT overdone.

Excellent composition and color. Curious...why did Provia have so much grain? Or is this a crop of a small portion of the frame?

A stunning image. You definetly deserved the editor's choice award. Perfect composition, lighting, and just the right softness (shutter speed) for the water. Almost looks like a painting. Well done!

Very beautiful sunset. It could have stood alone, but the log was a wonderful addition to this shot. It just carried your eyes right down to the horizon. Great job.

Great eye and composition- almost Ansel like. I agree with comments about color artifacts-I might try desaturating the color, particularly in the snow on the foreground tree. Again I'd suggest Neat Image to remove the noise in the open areas. There are also some good techniques for remove edge artifacts by using cloning brush in luminance mode at less than full opacity.
None of these quibbling points detracts from the fact that this is a really fantastic image, and worthy of a little additional work to make perfect.
Regards,
David

Very nice. Blur worked finr, but I've been using NeatImage to get rid of grain/noise with great effect and lots of control.
Congrats on your editor's choice, which is also graet.
