Beautiful shot... love the composition.. the colors...the use of the polarizer to eleminate the water reflection... the way the ladders dive into the water creating a beatiful gradient... great shot... we ahlan bek fe masr

Made me a little dizzy taking the shot Mary Sue. This was taken at a place called the Southfield Town Center in Southfield, MI. It's an office complex of several tall glass fronted office buildings not far from where I work.

Thanks for the comments guys. It was an emotional walk that day. Literally hundreds of folks in this cemetery on this Veterans Day, all apparently moved with their own quiet thoughts.

This makes me dizzy!! I love the perspective, and the color adjustments are exactly right. I agree with your solution to the washed out sky. Where was this shot?

awesome shot...i prefer the color as well. it seems to be a more "real" somber with the color, for some reason. incredibly moving image you have here.

Thanks for commenting folks. This is really the first time I've done something like this to an image and I guess I've gone overboard. I have attached the original in which I think the sky appears too washed out. Ingrid, I played with different degrees of cropping the sky and can't seem to make it work without losing the perspective.

Strong image. I might like it even better with the sky cropped out which is a tiny bit distracting. Otherwise, Great Shot!

i do like the perspective - my eye went up and the sky doesn't feel right - it is computer generated as you mentioned - to regual - and hasn't the smae flow as the building IMHO

Steven,

I agree with Vince, this type of shot really puts thing into perspective, maybe too well for some. Maybe those who make these decisions and never served, should take a walk through here or any of the other memorials some day. Maybe then they will realize what we sacrificed.
Later my friend,

Russ

The B&W I think presents the more somber mood. But the dark sky, colors and flag also accomplish this same purpose. The fallen leaves add a very nice touch. I prefer this one!
