Photographer: Steve Sieren  (Karma=40)
Westlake Village, CA

About: I've lived in Southern California my whole life(1978). Most of my family has moved away and still I stay. I guess I love it here! You can surf or snowboard all in the same day. As for photography I took a picture of Mono Lake w/ a kodak throw away camera and sold it w/out thinking much of it. A few years later I found and old 1970 Olympus OM2 35mm camera. After a couple of really bad rolls of film I finally got a shot that my good friends wanted for their walls. It was a good feeling, I was hooked. My father took the family to quite a few scenic places when we were kids and snowboarding later in life through all the mountain scenery must have sparked the interest in nature. Its been about 2 1/2 years since its been a serious hobby. I can definitately say I've enjoyed every minute of it. Even having to get towed out of the snow more than once, getting rained on miles from the car, breaking my own window to get my keys, and slipping in a tide pool and breaking my camera. Everyone has there bad moments but the good ones always out number the bad. With a good attitude you can make something out of nothing!
