Thanks Steve - yep, I think you're right about the frames. I gave them a quick go but now I've fallen out of love with them! I reckon you're right and the picture needs to be able to just stand up for itself.

Hi Jason.
Fantastic long exposure - very little noise, and the warm colours from the strwetlight really give this image a nice ambience.
I'm not crazy about the framing though - think the image stands up well enough on its own.
Thank you very much for your comment on my "sleepyhead" image.
All the best for '06

Sorry Mike - I knew it was a long exposure but just not HOW long! The NEF tells me it was 30 secs at F13. There was a strong street light to one side too helping the moon out, but I just put the leaf in the middle of the reflection.
As for how it was calculated - just down to the meter on the D1X - I just set the aperture and click. The metering on this camera is really excellent.
Thanks for your comment Mike, and yep, get out on the next moonlit night ok!

Great picture, although it's consider teasing if you post a picture like this up without any setting information. How long did you expose for? And how did you calculate it? But like I said before, great picture. I'll definately have to take some more pictures under the moon.
