About	A most incongruous place for a life saving belt. The water was all of 6 inches deep. In times of flood the life belt would be under water too! In any event, in flood the water would be running so fast that anyone in it would be hundreds of yards down steam before anyone could untangle the belt from its stand. Only in England could this be so.
