The colors are what attracted me to this photograph. There are many interesting elements to this photo both visual and in content. Visually, the long perspective is intriguing along with the architecture and vaulted ceiling of the hallway. Being from the United States, I am not exposed to many old buildings, so any photograph of this nature is a treat for me. The pealing paint adds a wonderful texture and since of decay. This picture, being an abandoned hospital, has a certain mood. It almost reminds me of a prison...but not quite. The sunlight jutting across the hallway is very important, I think. Again, I am accustomed to florescent rooms and sterile - and boring - hospitals, so seeing natural light in this hospital is beautiful. Another element of this photo - that it is of an abandoned building and somewhere you shouldn't be - makes this a special and exciting image! I can almost imagine nurses in white scurrying down this corridor. Wonderful job!
