About This is a non poisonous snake from the Osa Peninsula.
Its scientific name is pseutes poecilonotus.
This is a large snake that can reach 2,400 mm in length.
I could not control myself to pick her up when I saw this gorgeous snake walking next to the trail.
When approached these snakes carry out an elaborate threatening behavior, hissing, opening the mouth wide, compressing the body laterally, and inflating the neck.
(Savage 2002). I did not give much time to this one to behave impolite.
She did not get hurt and was released right after one of the tourist traveling with me took the picture.

Well, it is nice to see her picture and yours, but it sure would not be me picking her up. I'd take the threatening behaviour seriously. Then of course, I would not, like you know which snakes are and are not dangerous.

Dear Don,
Good to hear from you.
I got some information about rattle snakes.
The Pacific Rattlesnake is found throughout a variety of places in the California, from sea level on the Pacific Ocean, the inland prairies and desert areas, to the mountains at elevations of more than 10,000 feet.
I don't know about the rattles in Colorado, but the ones from California can go really high.
Since October last year, I have seem only one in my area.
My advice to you is, if you look for them you won't find them. At least that have been my experience with these amazing creatures.
Take care and keep up the good job.
Yamil
