Thank you, Mary! This view is actually quite wide... enough that even my wide-angle lens could not capture the scene in one shot. I really wanted to include the entire green patch of aurora, so I decided to make a composite image.

This has been a surprising good year for auroras, somewhat better than the average when we consider that the solar minimum is just a year away.

That was an awesome night.... wasn't it Pierre! Who would have guessed we'd have auroras that night. Well composed, and brilliant colours. Too bad Hayley didn't remember seeing them ;o)

The reason for the building is to help add reference to the size of the aurora. This photo is a combination of 3 different shots stitched together in PS. Thanks for the suggestion, and glad you enjoyed the aurora and sky :0)

Amazing. Though I've never seen one, I think that the aurora was beautifully captured. The inclusion of house and trees make it feel like I was watching from in front of my house.
