Thanks for your comments! Yes, a backlight would have been a great idea. As soon as I get the chance I will try it out. The backlight would have produced a nice outline

If this is your first attempt at still life, I look forward to seeing future work of this style. This is a fine shot, and I can only echo the comments of Melisa in relation to the effect that you've achieved. Well done.

You have captured some great details that disappear into the blackness. It is a well set out display. I would also love to see this shot with a low, backlighting that would light up the details of the champange. I think the added details of the champange bubbles and color will add a great warming effect and some life to your still life. I do like this version too. The stems fade away into the darkness just like a mind would that has had a bit too much champagne! :)
