Two bikes and two plastic birds. Now I knew that I had all the evidence, and that this crime scene was where I had been lead to.
Then I realised that the key piece of evidence was not the plastic birds themselves, but my picture of them. The ultimate cliche. As Apsley Cherry-Garrard didn't quite write in 'The Worst Journey in the World': "If you march your winter journeys you will have your reward, so long as all you want is a plastic flamingo egg."
Really fun series with engaging narrative. The grain works really well (as if taken by a spy camera on the detective's lapel) and the story hooked me. It all makes sense, in a way, that it comes down to a pair of flamingos.
