Well, I like the effect. It's vivid and energetic. And the counterbalance of the color and the good skintones more than make up for a few blown-out highlights. Now, if it were tilted, that would be a different issue--and much more serious. Good work!

Best wishes,
--George

I really like the lighting, Larry. Almost mystical...

Thanks for your support on this one David...I knew there'd be some comment about the hot spots but was really interested if anyone would like it despite that

Thanks Janet...I think it works even with the blowout

Well done, Larry! Under the circumstances, what else could you do? The colours are great, which other than your cute grand daughter makes up the story of the shot.
Dave.

cute moment and very flashy colors :) which doesn't mean I don't like it. I actually think it works pretty nice here. Such a cute expression.

I don't find the light quite as distracting with such a vivid photo. Blowouts can sometimes be intentional and pleasing as well. I can see both her eyes ~ the most important part of the photo!

Hey Len...I knew some folks may have issues with the light..This was a balancing act...natural light from the window and fairly dark inside...a faster shutter speed loses detail in the dark areas..as you said cropping would lose some of the photos interest...overall I'm pretty happy with it ...Thanks for your comment

Lovely portrait - the expression is caught just right - but rather too much light on the right of the picture...You could crop, though that takes the arms away, which would be a pity.
