About Wellington City Tonks Ave project- relocation & restoration of Heritage Buildings( early 1800's) to accommodate for the new bypass road,
which has been protested for the last 25yrs..
This particular dwelling in Tonks Ave( Central Wellington City- off Cuba St)was the meat house out the back of the Butchers, and to the right of the door way were stables for the horses.
The butchers shop on Cuba St will not be relocated.
The Tonks family owned the near by brickworks which are evidently used throughout the area.

Thank you Manu, I do have another of this area- a derelict house that has to be restored cause its over 100 yrs old, the project manager was saying it will be more like a total rebuild, but they have to keep everybody happy bout this project :O)
I have many more but not sure what I'll put up :O)

Excellent, Tabitha! I like the strong black & white contrast - it looks like a negative on the L/H side, the mortar between the bricks, and the grass. There shouldn't be anything subtle or "lovely" here (in my opinion) - and you managed to do just that. The darkness of the picture, the peeling paint, strong elements... reinforcing the fear factor... it's one of those places... Very strong image! Ina
PS - have a look at Bradley Prue's asylum pictures.

A very nice B&W picture of this old building.I only think you used a bit too much contrast, this makes the photo hard, but that's only my opinion. Anyway still a good picture. Femke
