About September light and colours appeal, especially when backlit by a low sun with dappling on the ground. This is an old cemetery (1700's) in a New England village. 40 mm focal length - large crop.

No Margaret you make perfect sense, and from a photographer of your sensibilities this comes as no surprise to me :) Many thanks for your lovely comments and poetic sentiments. Lemmy take a look at your misty morning 2...

Hi Anthony I looked up the description :- eerie - gloomy, weird, strange frightening [an eerie silence] Your image is certainly not any of these, so maybe it was the wrong word. But for me the use of [an eerie silence in the dictionary] is more how I mean't it. That you can almost feel that special combination of early light which almost in itself makes 'a silence'. It makes you catch your breath and want to tiptoe, and twitch at the slightest noise. The shot of my misty morning 2 for me has a similar quality, as the fog drifted across it was beautiful but special, but a slight of strangeness Hope I have made some sense, now I've written it, it sounds a lot of nonsense, but at the end of the day I love your image Margaret

Thank you all - but I do not find this "eerie" at all. Is that impression because of the gravestones? How do u define "eerie"?

Thanks! Just coffee. Tons of it. I meant to say "contemplative" not "reflective" - it's a better word. Oh, well it's late and there's pictures waiting to be uploaded.

Very beautiful, Anthony. Peaceful and somewhat eerie at the same time, invoking reflection. Great light coming through the tree leaves & shadow effects. Good cropping, too. This place should be wonderful to revisit later in the fall, full of colored leaves. Or even at different times of the day.
