About This is a crop taken from a much larger picture shot from the car as we drove past Hoover Dam on the way back to AZ. (I have attached the original image in a reply that I made to Margaret.) This statute was dedicated to the men who faced overwhelming challenges of mountains, canyons, weather, and beyond belief dangerously hard work to build the Hoover Dam.

The efforts of the men and women who are working together to help rescue New Orleans' residents from the horrible damage resulting from Hurrican Katrina are no less courageous - and the work is no less dangerous. While the photo's quality is not of the best because the statute was just a small part of a larger shot, wanted to upload it just as a recognition and tribute to those who have given and continue to give "above and beyond."

I agree Robert - so much has changed in today's world compared to even 5-10 years ago. So many freedoms that we took for granted are no longer available. So sad. Thanks for your comments. Jan

Thanks Del - I did realize that enlarging such as small part of the original shot would reduce the quality of the shot quite a bit - but I, too, liked the cropped version for the symbolism. Jan

Thanks Kathy for your comments. I also was very surprised to have it come out as good as it did considering how small a part of the whole shot this statute was. LOL Jan

Thanks Martin for your comments. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond - massive computer problems (mine) the past few weeks are slowly getting resolved. Jan

It is really sad that circumstances have resulted in restrictions on so many things. Got a number of really good shots of the dam, but not sure if I should upload or not due to security issues. Jan

Yes you use to be able to go down in the dam and see it. Like this photograph and the comment is nice.

Very nice crop on this one. I saw the full photo in your comment to Margaret. It is much less daunting in the original. In the crop for all you know this could be from a much higher point than it actually was. The crop makes it look much more realistic. Del.

Yes, I did see the attachment...that's why I was so impressed. This is pretty good quality being cropped down that much!

Thanks Kathy - were you able to see the attachment I put on to my reply to Margaret? I haven't been able to see any attachment - sometimes not even my own. Jan

What a nice thought, Janice! I can't believe that this is as good as it is considering how much you cropped out of it! I'm impressed!

Margaret - thank you for your comment. I have attached the original shot of this statute taken from inside the car as we drove past so that you could see that the original is a whole lot better than the enlarged cropped version. I was very pleased with the way this turned out considering the circumstances. Jan
