About My second attempt at a portrait using natural light. Any comments from those more experienced in this area would be nice...?

manu,
love this soft/high-key look. the slightly overexposed face really works here with your subjects milky skin tones.

Well, I can't find anything to improve upon here. It's surprising to me that it's all natural lighting. The catchlights in the eyes are just marvy.

beautiful portrait manu. the power lies in the sense that your subject is not giving up much in her facial expression. this draws the viewer in for a closer look. nice work man!

Hi, like the focus on the eyes and the white background, this style and the high-key effect is excellent,

beautiful daughter, very nice portrait
the eyes so beautiful
hi-key so wonderful here
though I am not really understand with reflector et al, I agree if there is a just a slight separation between the face and background

Wow, Manu! Well done and I love the light tones in this. Not easy to achieve with natural light!

Hi Manu

Sorry for the slow reply to your question. A gobo is short for go between and is an object usually a reflector or light controller of some sort that "goes between" the subject and the light source.

In this instance a black reflector board may have been successful in throwing a slight shadow to the side of the face giving a bit more separation between the face and the background. it would only be very subtle and may have helped a bit I think.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Mark...but what is "a black gobo" and will the model mind having this applied to the her right side of her face?

Help

Hi Manu

Nice portrait and great use of natural light. The high key affect is nice but perhaps a black gobo on the young girls right side to give a hint of separation between the face and background would be nice so the effect is the same as the left side.

Just my 2 cents worth
