I went back Saturday, but the bloom had already withered away. I took another shot, but it just wasn't the same without the yellow. :(

Hi again,
Still feel the same as I did with the other one. Maybe just a portion of the medallion? I find it just competes too much with the flower.
Love the flower and the blue, awesome together! Lori :)

Paul, I love the clarity of both of these images. Pin sharp. Cactus macro is superb. Out of the two I will opt for this one because I prefer the shallow Dof.

ok,looked at both and you will have to do another one like this sans the gold medallion! ;> love the combo of that blue with yellow (the accents in my kitchen are cobalt blue and sunflower yellow..like you care! hehehe....anyway,the dof is what i prefer here, too ...the prickly bloom is the focal pt. here,so the gold medallion competes even tho' blurred...good eye to see,Paul...peace,gayle * nice clarity and exposure, too

Beautiful color contrasts. I'd have thought these things would be done blooming by now. I'm not sure I like that fuzzy medallion on the left though.

This is a wonderful image of the cactus flower but I find that the out of focus gold disk at the right keeps distracting my attention.
