I'm about 10 min. from The Dalles in Lyle on the WA. side.
Digital has turned me into a junkie. I have two really good 35mm but they just collect dust and have for years. Without digital I wasn't doing any shooting. This is a great way to sail into my midlife crisis.

Ellen,

I've had my D70 since May of this year. It has really increased my desire to take phots again. Sunriver is about 30 miles south of Bend on Hwy. 97. There is an ulimited number of sites within 30 miles with excelent photo opps.

Andrew,

Ellen,

Thank you this and all other comments that you have given me. This new digital camera has really given me the flexibility to try things that I would have never tried with film.

Colin,

The streaks in the photo are stars. I think the background is in focus because the exposure was started just as the sky was becoming dark. I think this made it possible to have some of the stars in focus because they were just becoming visible towards the end of the exposure. I think I just got lucky. Thank you for the comment.

A difficult concept to commit to photo, Andrew. An intriguing thumbnail - I just had to view.
I'm not sure, but are the streaks, meteorites? because the background starfield has remained static. Fifteen minutes is some exposure!

An interesting experiment.

Colin
