I agree. I tend to keep the dof as less as possible because I like blurred backgrounds. I took a couple of photos with a tripod and timer yesterday with smaller aperture to get better dof. For the background, I'd run behind the flower and use my camera bag as a black background.
you have great gallery, very interesting shots, kind i really like but about critic, in some of yours insect pictures flowers have better focus than insects
and in some pictures you should have larger aperature, so the larger part of insect, or flower could be in focus, maybe just a matter of taste
