Wow, I hate to imagine what she could have been feeling at that moment:(. I hope to see her smiling again one day. Very nicely taken.

Great idea, nice portrait with nice dof.
Only thing that bothers me is the crop on the left. I think photo should be cropped exactly in the middle of her face (so you would get an exact half on the photo). You can try also cropping more on the right and bottom side, because in that case the wiever would be more concentrated on her face. I'd add a bit of USM, but that's just my taste for sharpness.
