Larry
First off happy belated birthday ! second, What is 100 deg F ? I would die ! This morning is overcast and the temp is 69.
It was 92 once that too hot !!
The cones suffer for sure as does everything else.
Only been to your town once, My son was recruited by the Ohmaha Lancers Hockey team, and we spent the weekend there as guests of the team.
I saw some real hockey fans there ! Wow they are crazy about the game. That was over at the old aksarben arena..
Funny story, I woke up the next week thinking about the name Aksarben, thought it was indian, then at 3 in the morning it hit me !!!
Nebraska backwards !
Have a good day and thanks for your many commnets

Excellent details on this flower. I know but I going out today anyway. I tired of saying by the a/c don't know how long but I got cabin fever bad.

Your lighting creates an interesting effect, Larry. Almost make one feel the heat. Nicely done.

Very striking image, Larry. Nice presentation. We, too, have a problem with some droopines due to the intense heat. Regards, Allen

Very nice picture. I agree with Chris' halo diagnosis, but unlike him I had no idea what could be done about it. A very striking photo in any event.

Thanks for your comment Chris. You are right, there is a bit of a halo that I ignored :-(. This started off as a bit of an experiment as the picture was pretty blah as a straight print. I will try the burn brush. Thanks, Larry.

Very well captured, Larry. Love the colours and the high contrast, though some of the highlights are a bit blown out.

Amazing colours and very good d.o.f., Larry.
It looks like you've got a little halo around the main flower where you appear to have lightened it. If this is the case, you could darken it again in Photoshop by using a small soft-edged brush with the burn tool set to 'highlights' and a figure of around 4%. Just gradually and smoothly brush over the lighter area to lose the halo.
Just a thought!
Best regards, Chris
