Todd, you've really composed this shot well..... the eye flows around the window, and I find it effective. Again, good work!

Hi Mary,
I feel like I'm running out of ways to say thank you. I really do appreciate all your comments and I read every one of them. It means a lot to me to have that kind of encouragement. For the sake of practicality, I think I will start replying to select comments, and ask you to know that I read every word you send.
Cheers, dear Mary.

Todd, I don't know anything about Golden Ratio or Rule of Thirds. What I do know is that this is a wonderful picture. The shadows and textures and the scene through the window make a super composition. Mary

Mark,
That picture was taken at 8:47am. I think you're right that it would have been stellar about 2 hours earlier. Thanks for the great review.

Nice shot, Todd. I'll bet this scene would be enhanced by either early morning or late evening light. The midday light can be pretty harsh. (just guessing by where the shadows fall)
Your composition is spot on. You balance the scene very well and the eye travels through the image well.

Keseph,
I couldn't put into words what I liked about this picture. It seems so simple now that you have said it. Thanks!

Up the post, across the shingles, down and around the window frame, a loop of branches, and what is that sunlit thing? That Golden Ratio thing, right? Or Rule of Thirds? I get them mixed up. Nice work.
