Thanks Rashed for your comment. Itook this shot in 1958, the camera was American made, the lens was not sharp, but at the time, in NA it was a popular piece. Alan M.
Thanks John, great to hear from you. No I did not keep "the Brick" a most apt description of that Argus C3. After coming to Canada in August 1956, I bought the camera, but on my first trip back to England in 1959, I think I gave it to my brother who is now Chairman of the Potters Bat Photoraphic Club (or is that Society), and he , as you can imagine has developed into a more adept shooter that I. That camera was certainly a unique piece of equiment, a bit fiddly to use, cumbersome perhaps would be a better word. I found that the lens was somewhat soft, and became convinced of this when a fellow offered me a Voigtlander Vitessa L for $30.00 in 1960 and I still have that. Kindest regards, Alan M.
Its a lovely shot Alan, did you keep the "Brick" they are very usefull as a doorstop or defensive weapon! 8-)) Still, they gave a lot of pleasure in their time so we should not be disparaging about them.
