About This was a really good opportunity to practice my flight photography as the birds were constantly streaming by overhead. I won't tell you how many shots it took to get this one but it was a lot.

These birds have a 7-foot wingspan, by the way.

Great capture, Fred! The diagonal composition really works, and you've got very good details and colour! I know what you mean about taking lots of shots, but at least you ended up with a keeper!
Dave.

Wonderful bird, nice and sharp and big in the frame.

Compositionally, not much going on apart from the diagonal line, which leaves us to concentrate fully on the bird, which is in excellent display here.

As an ex sailor who admired these birds for years, I can say this is the FINEST albatross photo I've seen, Fred. Awesome!

Wonderful picture, Fred. The details are great and the diagonal display of his 7 foot (that's BIG) wingspan suits so well. Looks good with the plain sky background.
Mary
