it would be extremely difficult to "generate" this image in a computer. the image was made by focussing light onto a flat sensor (3 dimensions into 2!). sensor could be film also. that's photography. "manipulation" is something else, but photographs have been manipulated since the early days.

The image looks to digtal, more computer generated than photograph. If this is what you were going for then you got it, but if you wanted a photograph I don't feel you achieved it.
