I see where Tamara is coming from about the crop, but personally the wide space emphasizes the small size of the kitten and contrasts with the strong ?king of the house? look on its face!

This is great. Besides the fact that the kitten is adorable and the title is pretty funny, the technical aspects of this shot are spot-on. The tones are very nice, and the DOF you ahve selected works very well here.
The only suggestion I would have is to crop is slightly, at least from the left since that part of the scene is rather empty, and maybe even a bit distracting (but really, only a little).
