I'm too am at work, thank goodness for Usefilm, or I'd have nothing to do as I sit in this cubicle. ;) I'll give your suggestion a try this weekend (won't get it done tonight, gotta go see Star Wars) and I'll share the results, thanks for the advice!

I am still a PS ametuer as well, but what I would try is...
Adjust the levels, curves and get that right side toned down to where you want it. (don't worry about how ugly and dark the left side and waterfall look.) Then take the History Brush tool and run it over everything you want to be the original picture. This will bring back the colour and tones of your original. If you just bring back the colour on the left side and waterfall the right side will stay dark. I would try this out and show you, but I'm at work now and don't have PS here. Try it out and see if it works for you.
Cheers
Kim

Thanks for the suggestion Kim, I think the burn tool might help me out. My photoshop skills are ameture at best, any suggestions? I did use the dodge tool on the mossy rocks to make them stand out a bit.

The exposure on the left side and the water is wonderful... it's too bad that the right side is so much brighter. Perhaps going back here (if you can) on a high overcast day to get more even lighting, or try to burn the right side in the digital darkroom.
I like your choice of framing as well... the waterfall is the main attraction, and it's nicely balanced.
