Ah a beautiful expressive dogportrait of a breed that I consider getting when my wonderful newfoundland one day isnīt around anymore. As far as I know they have a great even temper and are much more stabile than the Greenland sleddog. Good angle but where are his pointy ears?:-) Best wishes Annemette

I like this one Kim. Very well composed. Reminds me of the bear of an inuit dog I met this summer:

A wonderful portrait of this beautiful husky, Kim. Anik is a great name, I only wish I could meet him! Your detailed image, shows the intelligence, shining through his eyes. I'll bet that massive fur coat, keeps him warm in the snow!

Colin

He's a Malamute with 15% wolf bred into him. He's about 100lbs so not too much of a "little" brother but one of the sweetest dogs I know! Thanks for the comment, and for taking a look.

What a beautiful dog, Kim - such expressive eyes! I'm not crazy about the choke collar being visible (not crazy about choke collars at all, for that matter!), but I understand your wanting to show that ring of lighter fur around his neck! The shadows are really dark here, but I don't know how you could avoid that given the wide range of brightness - I think you made the right exposure choice and kept the majority of the detail. Beautiful portrait!

I'd use just the tiniest less amount of zoom. The brother is too prominent in the frame and it would be nice to have more blurred BG. imho
I understand my view is easily arguable.
Cheers!
