About Waveny Park in New Canaan, CT, is the major recreation center for our town. The park covers 300 acres of walking trails, spacious lawns and athletic fields. New Canaan residents enjoy jogging, nature walks, sports, dog walking and picnicking on the grounds. There are fields for soccer, baseball, softball as well as paddle tennis courts.

The park also houses Waveny House, a beautiful Tudor mansion where weddings, meetings and social functions are held in grand style. The house was originally the home of the Lewis Lapham family, built in 1912. The Town of New Canaan bought the house and grounds in 1967 and dedicated them for recreational use.

Great angles and composition in this very complex image. The placement of the flower planter is wonderful in terms of concentrating the focus on your subject. The line marked by the red flowers accentuates the angles and enhances the perspective, and I agree with Dircks comment about the lines pointing to your subject...well done...Love the colors....un abrazo ....:):)linda

Nice shot, Alison - the wide angle lens really gives the flowerpot in the foreground extra prominence and highlights that great accent of blue! I like how you caught the angle of the base, with the lines leading into the scenery!
