Thanks Mary it is a nice splash of color (so are our bright orange and yellow ones) against the gravel. Our entire yard - front, sides, and back is graveled - some off white and some in rich looking shades of redish-beige-brown. Told my husband, Sam, that if he was going to gravel the entire yard that I at least wanted some contrast in the color.

That's intersting--both on the same bush. The vivid colour of the flowers is set off well agianst the well chosen background.

Janice - this is a nice photo - but what about turning the image around - I think it works better this way as it is easier to focus on the flowers (even if the plant was not growing like this) - what do you think? - regards Jeff
