About A small portion of Oak Creek as it flows down into and through Sedona, Arizona. Further north in Oak Creek is a portion of the river called Slid Rock which is a favorite water area to play in for vacationers trying to cool off on a hot Arizona day.

Hi Janice -
The creek crossing was a concrete pad laid in the water with drain pipes thru it. When the creek was high you couldn't see it. If you'll look at my photo of the same crossing in my portfolio, you can see it. Fishing never was too good here. There were just too many people in the water. But both upstream and downstream the fishing (for trout) was pretty good.

Tiffany - not sure about the fishing part - but this is certainly a lovely place to sit, think, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the area.

Gosh George, I hadn't heard that. Bridge must have been there ages ago. I'm glad it's gone, as it sure is pretty there without having cars messing up the area.

At one time there actually was a vehicle crossing over this creek. As the number of tourists grew, more would try to use the crossing, but would slip off, plunging their cars into the creek. The decision was then made to remove the crossing. Too bad. Progress is not necessarily a good thing.

Hi Mary - Not ignoring you - never got an e-mail that let me know you had commented on one of my photos. - oops, it just this second "hit" my mailbox. Some I found from yesterday when replying to others still have not come in. Weird, huh?
