hi,Poe...these bring back my southern memories and they were faves of my mom n' dad..we had the pink ones,too...great DOF and background colors..nicely composed,too..hope you are liking your film Nikon!..~Shameless (BTW have been trying to get our Sassy friend back here,but says kind of busy right now,and maybe soon..)

I'm not a flower person Rebecca (they make me sneeze), but I do like this photograph. Effective use of DOF, good composition, and the whites are very pure. I think you will really like the Portra film I mentioned in my response to your comment on "Christie Beach". It comes in 400 ASA too. I have used it for some shots in my portfolio, Inukshuk #8 is one. I am always experimenting with different films and the Portra series is my fav so far, despite it being designated a portrait film.

Such pretty flowers - always look like cheery little faces to me! :) I love the way they're offset against the dark gray background. Maybe a little crop off the bottom to show only the complete blooms? (sorry, can't resist tinkering!)

I see you are shooting film...how's that? did the digi cam break? hahaha I guess I haven't touched a film cam for years .... it is rusting in the closet...a museum item now. lol.
