Dear Mary, Thank you so much for your kind words. I took this picture in October 2004. I went with a group of hunters to South Texas, however, I am not a hunter. I only wanted to take pictures of the local wildlife. My # 1 target was to get shots of these guys and the white tail deer. I did not take any good shots of the deer; however, the day that we were leaving, the owner of the ranch came to pick me up. He was all excited and told me that he just found wild turkeys in the middle of the road. When we arrived, resulted that they were not turkeys, but javelinas. Per more than 30 minutes, I was in the middle of the road with 11 javelinas. After I showed my pictures to the hunters, they told me about the bad reputation of these guys. Any way. It was a day that I will never forget. I was only 20 feet away from the herd and they did not get upset for my presence. In my country Costa Rica, I have seen them only once. They are a delicatessen for the people of rural areas and their populations are declining along their home range that extends from South Texas, Arizona and New Mexico to Northern Argentina. Oh well, I just wanted to tell you a little bit about this image. I guess is truth that a picture is worth it one thousand words. Take care Mary and have a great weekend. Yamil
