I like how your shot captured the dock in the light against the dark water and bank. Well ,I agree about cropping down to lose the visable sky, but disagree about toning as I like the muted tones of original :)

Beautiful scene, John, but I don?t think colors are making any difference, here. I did an experimental workshop, converting to bw with channel mixer and adding a gradient map overlay layer and a color balance for toning. hope you don?t mind, carmem

and an early rising photographer to capture the scene! ;> love the stillness,dark reflections,fishermen silhouettes and of course the ambient morning light which sets the mood...just my opinion,but i would want to crop down from top to about the rooftop of house in background..this would give a longer foreground,but just my eye,not any technical rule knowledge!..LOL..regards,gayle
