I really like the composition, and I think having turned this to black and white makes it a stronger image.
My compliments,

The noise you see is because the slide was scanned at a different rate than I thought. Had a local photo shop scan it on to a CD. It's 1/2 of what I get from my Kodak CDs. I wasn't real happy with the "noise". The original shot is on KR64, so I was expecting better results from them. I shoot film, so CDs and digitizing is new science to me, so I didn't know what to ask them to do.
Thanks for the nice comments and critque. I appreciate both.

I'm a little distracted by the "noise", or whatever the texture is in the left portion of the shot. However.... your eye is incredible. This shot captures the "spirit" of determination. The BW composition is nicely balanced and worthy of much more attention. Your portfolio is very impressive, and your talent is quite evident. Very nice, Randy! ...Brad

OK, I added you to my friends list........ guess we are friends now. :) Post work meaning a little tilt to the left? Don't go too far to the left, cause I tilt slightly to the right of center.... as you noticed ;) Go ahead an do what you think it needs.
I will have to get some more slides scanned so I can show them properly.

Well my dear in that case, this is just a beautiful image! I am adding you to my friends list because I do want to see more of your images! (I think I might still have to rotate it! ;)) I can even help ya out with postwork if ya need it. :)

Ha ha... twasn't me that was listing, Brenda. It's looking straight down the beach. The sand slopes away from the cliff, the surf is directly to my right. That said, you have a great observation on that issue........ nothing else in that photo would would be hurt by a little tilt...... I bet even more than one degree.
Thank you very much for that idea. Should I have any prints made from the slide, I will certainly do that.
I didn't request the highest DPI but I will next time.
Thanks again, Randy

I like this image and the mood portrayed in it. I might rotate it a bit maybe 1 degree to the left, I know this trick very well because I tend to list while shooting! ;) When you have your image scanned professionally to disk ask them to scan them at highest dpi possible. This way you will have a quality image that you can print from if you so choose! :)

Thanks everyone. This was taken in January and I was hoping for a sunset that night....... the sunset fizzeled, and as I walked back up the beach towards the parking lot, and the tree kind of 'grabbed' me. It was my only decent shot that night.
