Hi Jim-- I printed the picture and went to the nursery with it, the plant is a Pride of Madiera (echium fastuosum)-- drought tolerant, attracts butterflies (and photographers...)

Yes, that would be awesome, Subhash. I'll see if I can find another plant near by where I live where I'll be able to set up with a tripod. I won't be able to do any detail work on this particular plant because of where it's located-- I was able to sneak a quick shot with the point and shoot camera I keep with me. It is such a weird looking plant, it was hard to resist!

This is beautiful ,but can i make a suggestion ,if this is near by do a macro of the buds & a single flower will be mind blowing,i am feeling helpless as my hands are itching for this,love,Subhash.
