Hahaha, I'm so sorry for all my wrong comments!
If these are the actual photos they are absolutely great!

Lara...the edges on this man came about from all the blend layers in this image. It was originally colour and by using duplicates of the image in blend layers I brought it to this level. Again this is one photo.

Good composition, I like how you put the man behind the bushes. There's just one thin onfortunate in the position chosen: It seems he's holding the motor in his hand.
Again the edges of the man aren't cut away 'correctly' (I don't think there's a wrong or right in photos, therefore 'correctly')

Ricco, that is one of the most beautifully portrayed comments I have received. I have marked it as excellent in the hope that others will read it also and in the hope that they will also learn from your words. Thankyou my friend. You are an inspiration to me and will always enjoy working with you. And thankyou for perservering through my weird ways.

Hi judy. You did a great job with this photo and really put yourself in some dangerous positions for the sake of capturing some hi speed shots.I have read all the comments and have found them very interesting to say the least. and thought i would put forward my point of veiw from the models side. Sometimes by walking away and standing back you may see things much clearer from a distance, have you ever pondered and remembered back to when you were a child and thought to yourself about all the insignificant simple abundances that we payed attention to whilst growing up ,now over looked as we become so rapped up in our very busy lifestyles.SO as a tribute it is with great pride that i say to all who explore all the things overlooked through the poetry of the lens, it is a gift to see clearly and a tradgedy to lose all sight.
In this photo i may be looking down but i will always have my chin up and never lose sight as i look forward.
Thankyou Judy....

I forgot to add...that the title is him convincing himself that the past doesn't mean anything to him. It isn't important....just walk away. We all get that feeling at times.

Now you win the jackpot. You asked the 'right' question. Whilst the others asked what does this image mean...you asked 'what does this image mean to you'. Very good. Here is what actually happened.

We were out in the country side streets doing some burn out shots and I parked the car and Ricco pulled off the road and walked back to me to organise our shooting angles. As he was walking to me I suddenly saw this shot. I liked the scenery and the way the bike was parked facing in the other direction with its lights still on and the helmet hanging on the bike. Ricco was walking with strong shoulders but his head down in thought looking at the condition of the road. I quickly crouched down and saw all the grasses around him and the bike just under the hand. The whole composition read to me a very lonely feeling....one of sadness, of leaving behind a love...a passion. And walking towards the future of hope and maybes.

That is what I saw in this image as I took it.

I understand your intent in transferring an images context to other people's lives, but the fundamental point is that YOU pressed the shutter. As a photographer, I love to hear what prompted YOU to choose that split-second slice of eternity to capture, tweak, crop, scale and then upload.

With this title, doubly so! Very alluring Judi.

Hehehehe....I love your theory...but I can assure you that wasn't the case. The sky was a rainstorm about to break.

Omar Rifaat   {K:10141} 4/10/2005
Judi,
My theory is that he stopped the bike because he needs to go to the toilet urgently (hence the determined look!) ;) I have a bike, and I know this scene very well!

But seriously, its a very nice, dramatic shot. The sky suggests an approaching storm or something that he needs to leave behind forever...

Once more you captured a man whose expression has "indifferece" written all over his face.
Thank you dear Judi for your encouraging comments on my "Faces", my "Fate of our car 1" and especially on my "Fate of our car 2."
As I wrote when I first posted the photos of the totalled car (not in P.S.) the car was crashed by a piece of concrete that dislocated from the wall because of a fire next door. All this happened at night, so that nobody was hurt. The car was a total loss and the insurance company paid more than we could have received for the car had we wanted to sell it.
Best regards,
Rafi

Nice "Story Picture" I suppose the title and the about could have been reversed, and been just as effective. Did you think about doing that?

Ahhh...now that is good. That is the whole purpose of the image. He could be walking away from many things. The most obvious choice is the motorbike....but is that the real reason? People walk away from many things in their lives....some by choice...some by necessity. What he is walking away from is up to your own interpretation. That is where my image touches you. It makes you think....it makes you convert it to your own life. What choices are you going to make??

I agree with Christine, Judi, it leaves you wanting to hear more! You've certainly caught the mood of your model, striding very purposefully, with that determined look, and we're wondering why.
