You have a great action shot here , I like the shallow DOF. Dan

Aaaah, sorry. My mistake. Too tired to think straight. I think it was something like F2.8 @ 1/750th maybe a little faster. Not on my own comp right now so I can't check, but something like that.

I had it set on 'A'. I wanted F2.8 to keep DOF narrow to focus solely on individuals I was shooting, and with as fast a shutterspeed as I could get to freeze everything. I'm curious as to what you mean? How would you have shot it differently? What sort of look would you have gone for? I always welcome input.

why did you not put shutter speed and aperture settings down? I am guessing you used auto.

I had been using a 70-300mm g f4-5.6. It's ok as a lens in reasonable light but, in winter dullness, for sports it was useless. 80-200 f2.8 is incomparable. Excellent lens. I've got a few rugby shots taken on the 70-300 in my portfolio. You can see the difference. The shutter speeds were so slow, really difficult to get decent shots.

Good sports hot...a large improvement over the 100-300??
