Thanks, Mark, but (as you know) the camera does sometimes lie. In fact, she was poised only to try to chew on the toy. But, I liked the look anyway--something about "happy accidents," I believe.

(about a portrait, i cannot do the comment about only photograph technique.
it is because big concern will be taken by child's expression and the pause.
in such meaning, i think that this shot is a perfect(200%) dramatic portrait!

I love this - I feel this way too...
My only suggestion here is to take it to b&w or colorize it mono. Her eye is looking at the camera (and it's that intense BLUE which are amazing) which gives off an uncomfortable look that might be toned down in B&W? See below...
