The way you composed it is how man has always designed pictograms and patterns for textiles, earthenware pottery and tilework. I wonder if our ability to do this is ingrained, or culturally learned? I do know that a lot of it is mathematical. But then, is mathematics ingrained as well? You look at the natural world, the sunflower for example. It has complex math in its design. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
