Hi Lily,
I learnt about smoothing skin while surfing through the internet. Its actually pretty simple and makes a great effect. This is how you do it.
-Load the picture
-Duplicate the layer and call the layer 'Base'
-Duplicate the layer again and call the second layer 'Smooth'
-Then use gaugassian blur on the 'Smooth' layer. Use value 10 in the blur.You should have a blurry view of your image.
- Using the delete tool, delete over the eyes and mouth as well as all the facial elements which should not be blurry.
-When you are finished reduce the Opacity of the 'Smooth' layer to about 30%.

The lighting is much nicer in this version. Definitely big improvement overall. You talk about smoothing out the skin. How did you go about that? Is it the new PS tool?

Very nice portrait, her eyes are quite attractive, and tones and colors are well balanced. Just her necklace is somehow overburnt.
