With previous commenters I agree it's both puzzling and incredibly simple. The 'buzz' created by the scratches adds to it I believe - lends uncertainty and energy to the otherwise calm and rock solid compo.

Exceedingly interesting! The message is intriguing, the textures and technical aspects of the shot are equally puzzling. A bit hard for me to get a handle on, but so very interesting...and therefore, a success!
