This kind of perspective, translated onto a bi-dimensional space, evokes a pyramid. Interestingly, you imply a flaw in the contruction process, while the pyramids are on the contrary, and exagerately, used as a metaphor for perfection.
A great comosition and very good DOF, Markus. I always like these types of photos - and the sense of depth is very well handled. Camera setting were just right and framing was very good. Getting the people on the beach makes this photo more than just another abstract.
You used the imperfection of the boards to great effect ;-)
