I've never looked into the electricity consumption of these monitors. I know Kortnie's shuts itself off if it detects that the computer is off, or not hooked up. And I'm clueless about the radiation factor.

Thanks for mentioning the brand and the pricing. It's really come down, then. Do they really consume less electricity? And they probably don't emit any radiation like the crt's do.

The ones I have here are flat screens, and I got them for around $112 each about a year and a half ago at Best Buy. They're not flat panels, which run quite a bit more and I haven't looked into pricing those. But I'll definately pick up another flat screen. I might as well get the same kind as I got Kortnie, the 17" KDS.

I decided to wait on those flat screens, and haven't checked on the prices. Have they come down?

My colors all look fine, just the white is a little dimmer than it used to be. Maybe it's just dirty ;-)

I'll probably pick up another monitor like the one I got Kortnie. I got this one the same time I got hers, but this was a floor model so who knows how much use it got.

Oh drat, and I sold a color monitor in the neighborhood garage sale. Interesting how you can see the sepia in your monitor, but not the blue tone.

I noticed the blur, I like it.

I'd be curious to know what colors others are seeing. I think my monitor is going bad. The center of the screen is fuzzy, and there's a slight moire that won't go away on certain colors/contrasts, and my white isn't as bright as it used to be.

Yes, it's a steel blue, just a little ways from neutral black. Maybe it's my monitor. We can ask the others if it's blue on theirs. I also blurred the bottom and sides a little.

Mark, I like the sepia & square crop.

Yes, this was a larger image, but it wasn't cropped, just sized down. I was maybe a foot away from her, using super-macro mode.

Does it look blue to you? It doesn't have any color at all on my monitor.

And I warmed it up with a sepia tone, because the blue tone makes it look like she's in an icebox. lolol.

...reason why is her face is round, and the portrait format doesn't work that well with a round face-closeup.

This was from a larger image, right? I can see it in a square format, too. Like, crop just under her chin, and 1 to 2 inches above the eyebrows.
