Patrick, this is a terrific use of light to dramatically highlight your main subject and give a sense of depth. Thanks, Rodney

Still shooting an impressive set of landscapes. I have to say though that your most successful ones appear to be the wide angle shots with a foreground 3/4 and sky 1/4 composition. I've noticed that you usually place incredible foreground patterns in the frame with some really close details, like a rock, flower, ice, etc. The juxtaposition of the near/far elements and the contrast of the cool/warm colors result in some really amazing shots.
This is a good photograph - cool skies, with dramatic clouds with nice sidelighting on the warm desert tones to make the landscape pop, but there just does not feel as immersive as when you combine the near ground details with the impressive backdrops that the natural landscape provides.
Still in awe of your work - keep inspiring the rest of us.
Also - really happy that you are using slow film and a high F-Stop for bringing out the maximum detail.

You were at the right place at the right moment, extremely beautiful lighting. Gorgeous scenery. I ask me why you needed f:16, (dont know the performance of the Minolta glass, but my lenses are below par stopped down so much).
