i love this shot, Paul. The mood that you've captured & created, the dark shadow areas, the grain in the approaching clouds. Just great!

Very menacing image, with it's storm and grain. I look forward to seeing what else you do to this one!

Paul, all part of the photoshop learning curve. Suggestion: always save as .psd format so you don't loose the layers, then flatten the image and save as .jpg - this way you have the jpeg version and the photoshop format to preserve the layers. I don't even save as .jpg, I only keep it as .psd and I use the "save for Web" to get the web-sized jpeg version that I post.
on Usefilm.

Yeah, I'm not finished with this one, Jeff; the composite edges need work. Thanks for noticing.

Also, I don't like how the black propellor is lost to the background, but by the time I'd made these realizations, I had merged layers, and realized there's not any way after the next operation to undo that, except to start over.

I'll do that later this week.

Well done. I can see the fringing on the weathervane. In some instances, I had to got to pixel level to erase the fringing even after removing white matte in photoshop.

Paul, I like the juxtaposition of the storm clouds and the anemometer! Pure symbolism in a technological sense, aided by the toning and grain.
Well done!
Thanks for your comments!
Dave.

This is a composite, Dottie. The weathervane was photographed today, on a dull cloudy afternoon. :)
