I love the look of the dogs against the gorgeous purple sky, the details and the clatiry of the shot are wonderful, the wetness of their coats adds nice texture. Alison

Thanks for the explanation... I thought you had applied hair gel all over their fur for that wet look.

Thanks for taking a look Michele, and for your input. I was wondering about the centering of the two dogs, but if it is going to be cropped for a calendar I thought it best to leave some extra room around them. Cheers! Kim

*grin* I was wondering if anyone would want them shaken, not stirred. Leave it to Dirck to pick up on the subtleties. You called it right with Fia... as soon as I said "okay" she was gone like a shot to the water. We just get used to the mud and water around our house. *grin* Thanks for the input on my hound portraits... I hope to submit some samples to a calendar company in the next month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks to everyone else who has commented... I think I will try to burn the rock a little to see what it ends up like. Cheers Kim
I like the overall light backdrop (including the stone) for these dogs. What really matters anyway is how content and confident these guys look.
I prefer my dogs straight up, thank you! :) What an awesome background for this double portrait, Kim! They look so noble posing like this (although I love the way Fia(?) is leaning toward the water just waiting for the word so that she can go back to playing!) It might be good to burn in the foreground rock a little, but I don't think it really detracts from the image.
Excellent image with lots of character.
I often find that frames add little to an image, but on this one a frame might enhance as the bright spot at top left merges with the white Usefilm background, while the edge of the rest of the image is sharp.
