Perfect Lori! Congrats on the award . . . nothing more could improve this shot! I really like the color version . . . but they both have a beach feel anyway (IMO) and the B&W - to me - is the stronger of the two images since it seems to downplay the bright solar area near the top and allow the viewer to enjoy with less distraction. Awesome.

It was in Laguna mountains, only an hour away, we still think of it as San Diego. Of course the snow probably wasn't more than 6 inches!!

Dear Lori,
It doesn't snow in San Diego so why are you feeding all this bs to everyone especially the foreigners? You probably had just defrosted your refrigerator and then went out and sprinkled it all around very quickly just to take this very fine B&W shot with a great sky and the fence going in a straight diag to the lower righthand corner ...
Boy ... I really quit kidding there in a hurry didn't I? Anyway ... here's a very belated Congrats for the award!

I thought it never rained in Southern California and here you have snow! Beautifully composed and the clouds were on your side. I think the line of the fence really makes this shot (apart fom the clouds).

Lori COngrats on front page with this great composition. For the past couple of months I have struggled to keep up with viewings and comments, so sorry I missed this one. I like both the BW and the colour the BW certainly has an extra drama to it, the sky/clouds seem to be rushing at you, marvellous. But the colour is also excellent, the colours are great

But I do know Laguna beach, love that place! I've been wanting to go there for the past two years, just to wander around all the shops and galleries, husband keeps getting out of it. I'll have to round up a friend and go.

I love how the lean of the fence is complimented by the "movement" of the clouds. Though your original colour image is great, I think this B&W version adds to the overall quality.

Hi Lori, Definately a very well deserved SC! I'm happy for you, but not so much surprised. This is just awesome! B&W works well here, but I'd still go for the colour version. That one is even more awesome...:)

I think it looks really nice in B&W! You are right though, it's hard to tell that it is snow. We have gotten a bit of snow in these parts too ;o)

I like this, and you remind me how you're hugging the coast, and can zip from seaside to mountain to desert in just a couple hours.

The tonality, too, is great for digital. I'm not normally one for the format, but here it looks great...
You're right, it does look like sand. I get more of a 'hot' feeling from this than a cold.
