About
The Hall of Memory (right) was built to honour the dead of two world wars. Behind the camera's position is the now notorious Birmingham Repertory Theatre, which sacrificed freedom of speech for expediency in December 2004 when it withdrew a play that had attracted criticism from a small minority. Not even water from the fountain in the foreground can wash away this sin!
