Thanks for your reply, Mark.
the only reason(well mainly) is that i took a bunch of portraits of some beautiful Filipina women at a party, and haven't been able to have them processed; the ladies want their pictures.
The secondly reason(mainly)is that being able to use the FULL capabilities of the D70, might be beneficial. As you are aware.RAW is lossless, and gives the full benefits of being uncompressed.
But i'd like to add, thatI recognize the value of the jepeg(Fine) setting, and will mostly use that for any and all future shooting.
Lastly(mainly)(VBG), i paid $99 and a few bucks for shipping, so i got it; why not use it or learn it? I understand that PS cost's now almost $800, and can take quite a bit of time to use it.
Having no need of PS, I don't intend to buy it or learn how. So I'll play with NC 4.1 just as soon as I can get it installed on one of my computers.
Wishing you and your family a joyous New Year, and the best of shooting.
GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT!!
Walt

Walt, I have Capture 4 loaded but have never used it. I shoot in high res jpeg mode and use Photoshop to do all my processing. I find the program easy to use and very effective in getting the shot right if you are a little off on light or color. If you have questions about it, send me an e-mail at cpgresource@cox.net and I can explain more or discuss other options.

Thanks for your remarks. I was lucky in that my wife was with me, AND I had my umbrella. I 'll be looking forward also, to seeing many more of your images; I think that you have great talent and are an exceptional photographer. Plus, i hope to be gettingoutof the house more, and giving my camera, including my D70. much more work.
I have ONE question? I just got my Nikon Capture 4 in and expect to have it operating correctly. Do you shoot in the RAW mode, and if so do you have Nikon Capture4? Being a newby in digital imaging, i don't know how to properly loar it so I am having it done professionally, by CompUSA; and I undderstand that there is an update required to have it working properly?

Very well done, Walt. The umbrella gives it much needed color/contrast. The portrait style is perfect for this image as well. I have enjoyed your work this year and look forward to seeing much more in 2005. Thanks for all your comments and observations on mine this year.

That was my wife down there, so I so I wanted to add a splash of color. This is a an area where there are many waterfalls, and beautiful scenics, no matter the time of year. I have hopes of going back(minus wife) to hike and visit and photograph many of nature's beautiful sights.

A nice splash of colour in the umbrella! A nicely composed shot, Walt. I like the vertical format, it really fits the image. Dave.
