This is so striking. The contrast of this composition speaks for itself. I love how you were able to capture her pigtails in motion. I feel that is what makes the whole photograph.

What a comment on the beauty of life. All those ahead of and beside her once were so young and carefree as she is. In pigtails, skipping down the lane and the tree just bends over to protect her. b&w is PERFECT!

Hi Pat! This one strikes me in a sad way but also brings a small smile, feeling the innocence of this child but yet also knowing understanding is just around the bend. That carefree attitude would be nice to hold on to sometimes I think. Good job! ~mandy

Oh, this is so precious! I can see why it would move you.
There is such a bounce in her step, you can feel the carefree attitude! Her little pigtails just add to the whole feeling of that childish, carefree attitude! It is lovely in B&W too! Nice work )
